GdayX CEBU 2014

Google confab set in Cebu

GOOGLE’S GdayX conference will finally be held in Cebu on April 12 at the Lakwatsa Resto Lounge in Mandaue City.

This was announced by Google Business Groups (GBG) – Cebu which is organizing the local event which is also organized by GBG Chapters around the world, for tech developers, enthusiasts, and entrepreneurs in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East.

Google Business Group-Cebu is inviting everybody to this first-ever GdayX Cebu conference and “unconference” which brings together entrepreneurs, tech experts, professionals and community leaders who will discuss the latest developments in business technologies and Google innovations that can improve the industries in the locality.

The GdayX Cebu event is divided into two parts: conference and unconference. The conference will feature some of the country’s best speakers and experts, including Ryan Morales of Google Philippines, who will share their insights on business and technology.

Google community managers from Cagayan de Oro and San Juan are among the resource people also expected to fly in for GdayX Cebu and talk about how to manage sustainability in the communities to facilitate business growth and how to use Google Tools in organizing events and activities.

In the unconference part of GdayX Cebu, the audience will be the speakers themselves as GBG-Cebu facilitators will guide the attendees into focus group discussions for interaction and internal learning.

The organizing GBG-Cebu is holding the “unconference” phase as it believes that the success of learning is when the community begins to be an integral part of the learning process.

The GdayX Cebu host is looking forward to a fun Googley day of networking, discussion, and demonstrations that will leave the participants full and stuffed with fresh knowledge and new lessons that can help them improve their businesses.

Google Business Groups-Cebu is a non-profit community of entrepreneurs and tech experts who learn, share and discuss how professionals are using or keeping up with the technologies to improve aspects of their businesses whether in communications, marketing, or operations.

Cebuanas on the Web Summit 2013

According to the latest APEC study of February 2013, women have several concerns as entrepreneurs such as:
  • Networks are recognize as important to success in business but women-owned firms lag in formal networking.
  • Women firm owners lag behind men in their knowledge and use of technology.
  • Women uses computers less than men for their businesses and have a lower level of awareness of new technology.
With these concerns, it is vital that we empower women business owners through networks and through technology. With this, we bring you the first women and tech summit in Cebu: the Cebuanas on Web Summit 2013.

We would like to invite you (or women that you know) to join the Cebuanas on the Web Summit 2013 on August 22, 2013 at the Oakridge Pavilion.

Cebuanas on the Web Summit 2013 is a diversity-focused event where we gather together Cebu-based women from different sectors to learn how to use the internet for their success especially in business.

We are empowered and supported by the GBG community to become more diverse and inclusive and to see what foundation we can build for a lasting, vibrant community. This August 22, we are bringing back the Cebuanas on the Web and making it into a bigger event - the Cebuanas on the Web Summit 2013.
